How to Write a Grant:

  1. www.right-writing.com  Open this link and click on “Grant Writing” on the left sidebar. Grant writing is a skill you can easily learn. Find out about these funding proposals and how to position yourself to qualify. If you use these products and tools, you will be able to write a successful proposal and have access to these funds for your program and project.

 

  1. www.kinf.org Kids in Need Foundation
  2. Teacher Grant awards range from $100 to $500 each and are used to finance creative classroom projects. Sample grants are available on their website. Very easy to write.

    The Foundation Center publishes materials on private foundation giving. It is the leading source of information about philanthropy worldwide. May be worth investigating. 
     

Advice on grant writing:

1. State succinctly what the grant money would be used for:

a)  To invite guest author/presenter into the classrooms to augment education (history, social studies, creative writing)

b)  To purchase a book for each child (literacy)

c) For activities to be done in the classroom generated from the guest author’s presentation   (explain follow-up activities)

2. State your budget clearly.

a) Tell exactly what you are spending the monies on.

b) Explain where you got the cost(s) from.
